After much deliberation I have eventually decided to build a site dedicated the my Blue Eyed White French Lops. They have been sharing my Miniature Lop site since July ' 08 and I thought it was about time they had web space of their own. So here it is......... www.bewfrenchlops.com
Ruskin was the first stud in the UK to import Blue Eyed White French Lops and we feel very privileged and honored to have managed to locate some of the best stock available from around the world to blend together and create a whole new line of this wonderful colour of Frenchie. As there are only a handful of breeders dotted over mainland Europe and Scandinavia it is most important that a new strain is developed in order to guarantee the survival of this fantastic colour.
Working with the lines from Holland, Sweden, Belgium and Germany we are blending them with old fashioned British lines by using coloured Frenchies and creating carriers to further strengthen the gene pool and hopefully improve the colour along the way.
The Blue Eyed White French Lop has been standardised here in the UK for almost as long as there has been French Lops. But not until the recently have we seen any grace the show benches. I'm not sure why this is. Possibly is has something to do with the complexities of the Vienna gene which gives them the blue eye's or maybe it has been because to try and create this colour using another breed would have been too time consuming for anyone who may have been interested in doing it. Whatever the reason, the UK has been very much lacking in this beautiful colour. But not anymore!
